Spring came early, and my daffodils shot out of the ground and bloomed during the unusually warm March weather. But after winter, I was happy to see their sunny faces. The days and nights cooled down the past few weeks, so the blooms of my sunny spring daffodils held and were still going strong until a frost came last night, and now they are lying on the ground. I’m glad I had a chance to take a few photos and enjoy them. Hopefully, they’ll rebound when the sun warms things up during the daylight hours.
I have a mix of daffodils growing in my garden beds, from typical, single yellow to double white to white with a light-yellow tinge to the cup. However, one of my favorites is a miniature, all-yellow daffodil that is only 5 to 6 inches tall. It’s adorable planted at the base of a taller daff and mixed with scilla, another spring bulb. I have a great source for bulbs if you’re interested. Brent and Becky’s bulbs have been in business for a long time and have quality bulbs. Here’s their link.
Enjoy the photos of my sunny spring daffodils, and please share your favorites, too.
