The old-world-charm of the Burg Hotel
Tucked away in a quiet section of town along the centuries-old wall surrounding Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany, is the Burg Hotel. One of my absolute favorite places to stay in the world! You can find out more here www.burghotel.eu
With only 15 rooms and suites, it feels as if you’re staying in the home of friends and family. The staff makes you feel this way right from the moment you step through the door on your arrival. An elderly gentleman greets you and signs you into the hotel. He then helps you with parking in the garage if you so choose. He shows you to your room and is there to answer your questions. We will not forget him or his kindness.
The rooms
The room my wife and I stayed in was on the first floor. Spacious with lots of natural light from all of the windows, a large four-poster bed, sitting area, and a well-equipped bathroom with a shower and tub. This was an amazing room for our stay. There is a bonus with our room. A door that leads to an outdoor garden area along the wall under the tower, perfect for relaxing and a glass of wine.
Our brother and sister-in-law had a room on the second floor, which was just as amazing with a view of the garden and a separate sitting room.
Breakfast, which includes eggs, pastries, cereal, meats, cheeses, and more, is served with the Tauber Valley’s unforgettable views. A young lady came around and asked how we wanted our eggs and if we cared for a smoothie to begin. If the weather allows, you may even take your breakfast outside and enjoy the sun and scenic view.
I would definitely stay in this wonderful, centuries-old hotel again the next time we visit this great country and town.
