I’ve had a passion for cameras since I was a young boy but my real obsession with them came the day my Grandma’s Kodak foldout camera came to be mine. Since that day I’ve been adding to my collection of more than 300 cameras. They range from miniatures to 8×10 wooden field cameras. And I still have my first 35mm Canon AE1 which I used until digital arrived.

I’ll post some of my favorites as time goes on and as I start to unpack the tubs where many of them are currently stored. But I think the ones that really catch my attention are the wood and brass field cameras that take glass plates and film. To imagine taking photographs with these cameras is amazing to think about and the craftsmanship that went in to building them and the lenses that were used.

I still enjoy searching for cameras in antique stores and flea markets even though it’s really easy to go online and buy all types of cameras. There’s something about the hunt that excites me and prices have skyrocketed online.

I wanted to get this passion started so that others can post their favorite photography items from cameras to photographic equipment and literature. Enjoy!
